Memeorial Day Weekend

One of the main reasons Darren wanted us to visit him in Marianna was to go to the big Memorial Day weekend party at his boss's house.  Darren's boss and his wife have a big party every year for Memorial Day for all the employees and his friends.  They have a house with a sweet set up on a lake.   We spent the whole day there and had a great time!  They had wave runners that my kids LOVED.

This was my kids first time on wave runners.

The house had 3 docks- one with a slide and boats, another one for boats and this one- a platform for jumping off at different heights.  Darren jumped off the top without blinking an eye.  In fact, he hopped up on that hand railing on the top and walked along it and then jumped off!  I am proud to say I jumped off the top twice, and Ellie did it too!

They had brought in all this sand all along the 3 piers.  It was awesome!

Then we went boating and the kids got pulled on a tube.

These trees on the edges of the lake were SO cool!  It was like a Dr. Seuss book!

 The water was so pleasant! We all commented on how nice it is to swim in fresh water instead of salt water!

We would go down the slide, then would jump in the hot tub- then back down the slide.

Gabe went down the slide with Darren but didn't really care for it.

I would have gotten so many more pictures of the house, and barbecue area, fire pit area.  But my camera ran out of battery.  Anyways, we had a fabulous time.  They had done such a great job with everything- the food, decorations, and providing plenty of fun things to do!  It was what our family needed after being apart for 6 long weeks.
