Hero's

The other day Paul, Ellie and Kyle were out riding bikes.  Kyle rode into the back of Ellies leg and scratched it pretty bad.  He felt so bad- he didn't know what to do- so he rode away.   Paul knew just what to do since he has watched every Man vs. Wild episode made.  He took a sash he had (don't ask me why) and wrapped it around the cut and brought her home.  He washed it, put Neosporin and a band aid on it.  Ellie was just in love with Paul for helping her.  She said, "mom, you need to give something special to Paul for helping me."  Paul said, "Ellie, hero's don't need rewards."  Oh Paul, if everyone could be as sweet and clever as you the world would be a much better place.

When I have grown a foot or two

Man- I wish I could turn the pictures the right way!  Anyways, on Sunday Kyle wore a suit for the first time.  I made him wear it for Gabes' blessing. He looked so cute in it!  I can not believe how big he is getting!

Kyle's teacher made him this cute missionary name tag.  It looked just perfect with his little suit.  Speaking about missionaries I am reminded of when I was a kid thinking about being a missionary.  I wanted to go on a mission so bad when I was little.  The problem is the song said you had to be "a foot or two"  and I wasn't sure how tall that was.  And I was a pretty short kid.  I just knew I would never be tall enough to be a missionary!  I worried about it for years.  I guess I should have just asked my mom or dad.

Also, Kyle lost his 1st tooth this week!  He knows that I am the tooth fairy- he whispers it to me like it's some big secret he and I are the only ones that know.   He reminded me to leave him money that night.  I left him a dollar and he was very disappointed!  He said he wanted coins!  What am I kid- a mind reader?  I told him the "tooth fairy"  would come again while he was at school and leave him coins.  He thought that was a great idea and was so happy i was so smart.

Gabriel Teancum Ernst

Well, we blessed our little one today.  We had no family there, but I didn't feel sad. I felt a little stressed that he would scream during the whole thing or have a blowout in his white outfit minutes before. But he didn't. He was just peaceful and a little angle.   I felt happy we have the gospel and the priesthood and ordinances.  I felt love for friends who have been so helpful and kind.  I felt grateful for my beautiful healthy children.  I felt Peace.  I felt so much Joy to have Gabe be a part of our family.   Darren gave him a great blessing. It was a beautiful day all around.

Get to know Darren...

I post about my kids all the time- It's time for you to get to know Darren a little better.   The best way to describe Darren?  Our good friends Bryce and Amy once described him "passionate about life!"  That about sums up Darren.  He doesn't do anything halfway.  Food is not "fine",  it's either "delicious or disgusting".  He likes to ride motorcycles very fast and bungee jump off 500 foot bridges.  He wears a speedo when he snorkels so he can swim faster and dive deeper.  He has broken so many bones I've lost track.  He likes dirt biking, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, street biking, tri-Athelons, swimming, climbing, working out, and wrestling.  He LOVES motorcycles.   He wants to climb to the top of  the highest mountain in all 50 states.  He has a great vocabulary is is constantly using words I have never heard before. He likes to be silly, and tease the kids.  He likes to cook.  He is a great dad.  Darren is a very fun person to be married to. One of my favorite things about Darren is he is very self disciplined.   He gets up on time, works out with a passion, eats healthy, and is always on time.  He can make me so mad, and then schmooze me and get me to forgive him in less than 5 seconds.  Here are some pictures of Darren goofing off- taking pictures of himself to make me laugh.  He had shaved his beard to a ridiculous goatee, mustache thing just to get a reaction out of me.  It was hilarious.

Ha ha!  Darren makes life really fun.  My kids love him and I love him.

That was fast

Wow- well, that was really fast.  Surgery is done and everything went fine.  I went in at 6:00 this morning and was home by 9:30.  I actually feel pretty good, but that's probably the drugs talking.  ha ha ha.  My doc said that there was placenta parts in the uterus.  I am so thankful I have such a good doctor who found it.  Things could have been a lot worse.  Well, I'm in a good mood.  bye bye everyone!

Not so good

So I went to my 6 week check-up yesterday.   Sometimes I find healthy check-up's annoying.  I tend to think, "if I have a problem, I'll call ya".   But I go, just in case.  Anyways, during the exam, the Dr. said, "we need to have an ultrasound done on you."  I instantly thought- that's not good.
Turns out there is still something in my uterus.  Probably some of the placenta.  So I am going to the hospital in the morning for a D&C.   I was a little taken back, as I expected everything to be fine and I have been feeling great.  I guess it's not.  I asked her if we could just wait and see if it passes.  She said that is really not a good idea as it has already been 6 weeks.  It will either turn into an infection, or the body will try to flush it out, which is really dangerous.   I agreed that the surgery sounded like a better alternative to bleeding out.  I am so thankful for good doctors- and modern medicine.  It should just be half a day and I'll be home tomorrow night.  I am pretty bummed though- I was going to take my kids to the beach tomorrow!  Instead I have to have a stinking surgery.  Ughhh.   Hopefully everything will be just fine.
It is so crazy to me how dangerous having a baby is.  Here it is 6 weeks later, and if it were in the old days, I am still at risk of dying from childbirth.  Any day now I would just start bleeding like crazy and die!  Scary.  Well, it's 1 am and I get up at 5:30, so I'd better get a couple hours sleep before tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

Mom's are the best

My mom recently came to help me when Gabe was born.  When I left for the hospital my back porch was pretty pathetic.  It was clean, thanks to my cleaning the day before- if you remember the video.  But it didn't really have any decorations set up.  Anyways, while I was in the hospital my mom decorated the Lanai.  It turned out beautiful!!  I love it.  She got me a nice rod iron table, some side tables, and beautiful plants and containers.  We love to go out there now and have breakfast, or candlelight dinner.  It's so nice to have another room.  Thanks mom!!

I got this cool metal sculpture at a yard sale in Rigby.  Love it

I just got this awesome pot at a yard sale here in Naples last week.  Love it too!
