Mountains

We only had a short time in Utah, and a lot of it was spent doing wedding stuff. But the one thing we insisted on doing was going up to the mountains. It was beautiful. We drove up behind Sundance and hiked to Stewart falls. It was a beautiful day and oh how I have missed the mountains!

Erica's wedding

We went to Utah for Erica's wedding.  It was a short trip, and I am sorry to all my friends I did not get to see. We really only saw Darren's family and my family.  Every min. was planned.  Erica and Mike got married in the Salt Lake City temple and it was beautiful. Erica looked STUNNING! Here photographer was April Bladh Smith, who was fantastic.  I think Erica's photo's were the most beautiful wedding pictures I have ever seen.  We are talking magazine worthy here.

Erica invited Paul to bring his chair and sit at the head table with her.  But then all the kids started bringing their chairs, so he had to go back to the kid table.

Darren's Aunt's Laurie, and Dixie, and Gran came up from Dove Creek Colorado.  We were so happy to see them and love them so much!

 Ok, so I have to take a break here to tell a story about Corey getting up to share his thought, advice, for Erica during the dinner.  If you don't know Corey, he is a pretty serious guy.  After the kids, Corey get up and starts talking.    He had his cell phone in his pocket and it started ringing.  He only uses his cell phone for emergency's so he didn't know how to silence it.  He just pushed some buttons and got it to stop ringing.  Only a handful of people even know his cell phone number.  And almost all those people were in that room. So Corey tries to get back to his serious advice and keeps talking, and someone who shall remain unnamed whisperers to Darren, "Call Corey again!".  So Darren grabs my cell phone and calls Corey while he is up there talking.  Now, if you don't know-Darren and Corey have a, shall we say, funny relationship.  Corey is serious, and Darren likes to joke around.  I think it drives Corey crazy sometimes and Darren revels in it. So, Corey is  up there talking and his phone starts to ring again.   He fumbles with his phone trying and then holds it up and says, "who is calling me!?" He knew everyone who had his number was in that room.  It was silent.  I pointed to the back corner where Darren was standing.  Everyone turned around to see Darren in the back holding up his cell phone waving it.  The room burst out into laughter.   We could not stop laughing.  It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.  Seriously, the nerve of Darren!! It took a few minutes, but when the laughter died down Corey finished his speech.  It was a pretty memorable moment and I think Corey took it in stride. Thanks Corey for being a good sport and letting us all get a good laugh:)

Well, Erica and Mike are married and we are happy for them.  It was a great time and I am thankful for Darren's family.  We have always gotten along so well and I am so grateful for that.

Airplane Ride

So, did I ever tell you about our airplane ride to Utah?  I don't think I did.  Well, I'm going to tell you now. We were on the plane.  Having a great time.  Paul and Ellie were in the row in front of Me, Darren and Kyle.  Darren and I were sitting next to each other and I had Gabe.  It was kind of romantic sitting next to Darren. We got up to cruising altitude and I was so tired!  I was ready to nurse Gabe to sleep and take a nap myself.  Darren kind of drifted off.  Kyle was asleep. I nursed Gabe and he fell asleep.  I closed my eyes and relaxed.  Finally, after staying up late, getting the house cleaned, bags packed, getting to the airport, going through security boarding the plane- you know the drill.  It's a lot of work.  So back to the story.  I finally got Gabe to fall asleep.  As I was just about to drift to sleep Darren sits up and coughs REALLY loud, lays back against his chair and goes back to sleep.  But surprisingly (sarcasm)  his LOUD coughing woke Gabe up!  So I sat there for the next however long with an fussy baby while Darren slept. I contemplated coughing really loud in Darren's ear to wake HIM up to take the baby, but I figured 2 grouchy parents is not better than 1 grouchy parent.  So I let him sleep. When he woke up I was not too happy.  Thank goodness Darren is so good looking or I would have never forgiven him.   He took Gabe, I got a nap, and the airplane ride was actually really fun.  I love flying.  But, next time I'm giving Darren a cough drop.

I forgot to post pictures from our trip to Utah for Erica's wedding.  I must say, that Erica was the most beautiful bride I have ever seen!  She was gorgeous.  I will post some of her wedding pictures, but for tonight, here are some pictures of our family at the wedding.

Snow

 Last night I dreamed I was in Rigby and it was snowing.  I was freezing!  When I woke up this morning I realized Darren had turned the air conditioning down a couple degrees colder.  What's better, snow or air conditioning in Nov.?

Last night

So last night as I'm sleeping I wake up to a big thud.  I sat straight up in bed. It sounded like one of my kids fell off the bed.  Then I see Darren sleepily get up from the other side of the bed and crawl back into bed.  LOL I realized it was Darren who fell off the bed!  Seriously?  When is the last time you know an adult who fell out of bed?  I think the 5-6 hours of sleep every night for the last week is getting to him.  Poor guy.

TPOM- The Power of Mom's. One of my absolute most favorite websites.  I love to go to this website and listen to the podcasts while I eat breakfast and clean up in the mornings.  It makes me feel good and gives me great ideas.  I have been going through the podcasts,  I listen to them in order even if the title looks like something I don't have interest. I do that because I end up loving each podcast even if the title doesn't interest me.  So I listened to this one this morning and loved it. I didn't really want to listen to it because it is titled- Solutions to moms body issues.  And I don't feel like I really have body issues.  But I listened to it and I loved it!  It is a long one- like an hour and a half, but worth listening to.
